🔊BREAKING NEWS! NEW BOARD MEMBER!🔊

As we gear up for another exciting season on the hardwood, we are pleased to share that Femi Adeleye will be joining the Old Bridge Hoops Academy Board of Directors, as coordinator of our fundraising efforts.

Additionally, Coach Femi will continue as Head Coach of one of our boys’ teams this coming season. Coach Femi brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the area of youth skills development. His unique background in finance, coupled with his ability to develop young basketball players makes him a great asset to OBHA’s Board and the organization’s mission to Teach, Inspire and Empower young student athletes.

Coach Femi, we appreciate your willingness to serve our youth. Our organization fills an important need in our community, and we believe your presence on the Board will enrich our organization and the youth of our community.

It's going to be a great week!

Dave Hopla, professional shooting coach was our guest speaker for the first day of week two of OB Hoops Skills Development Camp. Dave is considered by many to be the top shooter in the world. He regularly knocks down 495 out of 500 shots. Dave regularly keeps track of all his shots when he practices and lectures. Dave has worked with many NBA, WNBA, college, high school teams and players. His knowledge, expertise, enthusiasm, energy, passion and love of the game are unmatched by anyone. As good as a shooter that Dave is, he is even a better teacher.

**COACH UPDATE**
(2 of 2)

After serving as an assistant coach and trainer last season, Coach Sultan Aminu will serve as our 8th grade boy’s coach this season, where his primary responsibility will focus on preparing his team to compete at the high school level.

Sultan began his basketball journey as a travel player in Old Bridge, and continued as a 4-year varsity player for Old Bridge High School. During his senior year, he became the first boys’ 1000-points scorer in school history, while leading the Knights to the conference final-four, their first appearance in school history. His on-court play attracted Division I & II interest. Sultan elected to attend DII powerhouse, East Stroudsburg University. While at East Stroudsburg he was a contributor on two championship teams, one of which was a record setting 30-2 nationally ranked team that went on to compete in the NCAA DII Tournament, Sweet Sixteen.

After his junior year, he transferred to Ramapo College of New Jersey for his senior year and was a part of another historic championship team that also competed in the NCAA tournament. After graduation, he took his talents overseas where he played professionally in Spain for one year. His return to the states is fueled by his passion for the game and his desire to coach and inspire young student-athletes in his community to be the best they can be on and off the court.

“This game is about identifying, teaching and developing talent,” said OBHA Program Director, Ian Daley. “Sultan brings valuable experience as well as a notable work ethic and a unique ability to teach the game to our student-athletes and we are thrilled he’s decided to be a head coach. We have no doubt he will do an outstanding job.”

**COACH UPDATE**

Old Bridge Hoops Academy is excited to welcome our newest addition, Coach Justin Meyer to our coaching staff.

Coach Meyer brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the organization’s highly respected coaching staff, with over 30 years coaching experience at the Youth, High School and Travel levels. While at Union High School he was selected 2007-2008 Sideline Chatter Union County Girls Coach of the Year. 2013-2014 Star-Ledger Union County Coach of the Year.

Coach Meyer has been involved in Old Bridge Township Youth Soccer, Basketball, Football, and Baseball for the past 12 years.

“I am excited to welcome Coach Meyer as the new head coach and Director of our girls’ basketball program,” OBHA Program Director Ian Daley said. “Coach Meyer has a proven track record of success on and off the basketball court. In addition, he exemplifies the values of our mission, Teach, Inspire and Empower! Coach Meyer’s passion for the game and his dedication to helping young student athletes develop their playing skills, as well as their character, will be an asset to our program and we’re excited to have him as a member of our Hoops family.”
